Governance & Staking
Governance is how VirtEngine changes protocol parameters. Validators and other eligible participants adopt changes through network consensus rather than a Foundation administrator changing a central service.
Staking
Section titled “Staking”Staking remains a security mechanism for validators and delegators. The proposed model reduces staking issuance by roughly 90% from the prior design; reward rates, commissions, unbonding and slashing terms are governed chain parameters, not fixed return promises.
Identity-led issuance
Section titled “Identity-led issuance”The proposed primary issuance path is an allocation to accounts that meet the network-defined threshold for a unique verified identity and stay active over time. The illustrative policy uses quarterly activity checks over a 50-year horizon. Each 15-token VEID issuance batch allocates 14 tokens to eligible humans and 1 token to DETIO FOUNDATION LTD’s Foundation-controlled genesis account. The Foundation allocation is part of that batch, not additional issuance. Consensus may amend all of these parameters.
VEID and the Foundation
Section titled “VEID and the Foundation”The Foundation operates its websites and reference services, including identity.org.au. It does not operate VEID as a central identity provider. VEID is decentralised protocol technology that participating validators may join and operate under the network rules.
Participating safely
Section titled “Participating safely”Before staking or relying on an allocation rule, check the current chain parameters and adopted governance proposals. No documentation page is a guarantee of eligibility, price or yield.
